Representations of Muslims in contemporary British drama. This is the research topic of Dr Önder Çakırtaş from Bingöl University (Turkey).
Onder implemented a short-term scientific mission at Jagiellonian University (Poland). The main purpose of this collaboration was to analyse how migrant Muslims are represented in contemporary British drama.
The University library was used for search of some materials to find out how Muslims who migrated to Britain have been handled in theatrical and literary texts and performances, especially in the post-colonial period following the Second World War.
After some bibliographic research, Onder also gave a short lecture on the related topic of research to the faculty members of the English institute and discussed possible research topics in the context of migration and religious diversity.
We look forward to hearing about new collaborations and research ideas!
