COST Action ‘Connecting Theory and Practical Issues of Migration and Religious Diversity’ (COREnet) is organizing a workshop, “Crossroads of Learning: Exploring the Intersection of Education, Migration, and Religion”, that will take place at the University of Malta on the 4th of March 2025.
This one-day workshop seeks to bring together interdisciplinary perspectives to explore how education, migration, and religion interact and intersect.
The aim is to explore how migrant groups navigate within educational systems, the impact of their religious backgrounds, and how educational environments can influence these processes. Additionally, one of the critical areas of interest will be how religious and cultural diversity is addressed in academic settings. We seek contributions on theoretical perspectives, case studies, and comparative approaches.
Additionally, there may be a further opportunity to submit journal article proposals into a thematically related, COREnet-edited Special Issue, “Education, Religion, and Migration: Superdiversity in the Classroom”. After the journal editorial board confirms the special issue proposal, more information will follow.
Please send the title of your presentation and the abstract (up to 250 words) to corenet[et]vdu.lt by the 7 of January 2025. The notification of the applications will be sent by the end of January.
If you have any questions about the workshop, do not hesitate to contact the COST Action COREnet WG2 leader – Aybiçe Tosun aybicetosun[et]gmail.com and WG3 co-leader Michelle Attard Tonna michelle.attard-tonna[et]um.edu.mt.
