COREnet member and sociologist Turkay Nefes from the Institute of Public Goods and Policies (Spain) recently returned from a Short-Term Scientific Mission funded by the COST Action. This STSM offered Turkay the opportunity to analyze an original dataset of the Turkish parliamentary speeches that referred to Greeks.
During the STSM at the University of Oxford, England, Turkay examined the Turkish parliamentary records between 1946 and 1960, which included important events in Turkish-Greek relations, such as the dispute over Cyprus, and the September 6–7 Pogrom in 1955. Turkay has prepared a publication based on the study’s findings, which we will share with you when it is published.
