SUMMARY:Webinar. Contextual Vulnerability of the Researcher: Discussion on Integrating Researchers’ Emotional Well-Being in Research Ethics
DESCRIPTION:Qualitative research can be deeply personal and immersive\, shaped by the researcher’s interactions in the field. But how does this exposure affect the researcher? What challenges arise when navigating emotionally intense topics\, vulnerable target groups\, risky fieldwork conditions\, or institutional barriers? While there is no single solution to all challenges\, increasing awareness and institutional support can make a significant difference. In this webinar\, COST Action COREnet members with external experts will discuss researchers’ emotional well-being\, contextual vulnerabilities\, and the importance of addressing these issues in research ethics. \nThe webinar will consist of a presentation and panel discussion. \nTime: March 18\, at 13-14.30 CET. \nThe webinar will be led by: \n\n Professor Halina Grzymała-Moszczyńska\,\nDr. Gilda Seddighi\,\nand Morta Vidūnaitė.\n\nPanel participants: \n\nProfessor Andreas Önver Cetrez\, Uppsala University (Psychology of Religion)\,\nPostdoc researcher Dr. Katharina Maria Wuropulos\, Department of Media Studies\, University of Bergen (UiB)\,\nDr. Vidar Enebakk\, the Head of the Secretariat for the Norwegian National Committee for Research Ethics in the Social Sciences and Humanities (NESH).\n\nThe webinar is organized by COST Action “Connecting Theory and Practical Issues of Migration and Religious Diversity” (COREnet) Working Group 4 members and external guests. \nLanguage \nThe webinar will be held in English. \nZOOM link \nThe Zoom link is here. \n No registration is needed.
