The most important activity of the City of Rijeka in this field, which was an exception in Croatia, was to establish a safe transit corner for refugees passing through Croatia in December 2022. This was a joint effort of the City of Rijeka, Rijeka Archdioces Caritas, Jesuit Refugee Service, Red Cross, Foundation “Solidarna”, Railway Company, and the Rijeka Health Centre.
