Project Title: “To get together“ – Zvyšovanie kapacít komunít vysídlených z Ukrajiny žijúcich na Slovensku prostredníctvom živého dedičstva
Project Aims & Objectives:
The project “To get together” – Capacity building of Ukrainian displaced communities living in Slovakia through living heritage concentrates on the role of living heritage for the Ukrainian communities displaced by war and its protection.The project focuses on the use of living heritage to strengthen and protect Ukrainian living heritage, to support and empower the Ukrainian displaced communities themselves, and to promote social cohesion between the refugees and the host society.

Research Methods: The projects will include workshops on Ukrainian intangible cultural heritage for Ukrainian communities and the general public in Bratislava and in the regions of Slovakia (35 workshops implemented by SME Together and o. z. z. and Milan Šimečka Foundation). The second type of activities will be the organisation of five events on the theme of Ukrainian living heritage (SME Spolu, o. z.). The output of these activities will be, among others, two promotional films. The Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, v. v. i. will organise up to 12 participatory workshops/meetings aimed at increasing the capacities of Ukrainian communities, will organise a workshop on the theme of living heritage
Findings/Outcomes:
On the basis of the research, IESA SAV, v. v. i. will also prepare a material presenting best practices for the protection of living heritage in displaced communities, which could be transferred to other environments. Finally, we plan to organise a dissemination conference on the role of living heritage for displaced communities.
